Andersonville becomes an object lesson in patriotism. To this retired and beautiful spot will thousands resort in the long years to come, to learn again and again lessons of heroic sacrifice made by those who so quietly sleep in these long rows of graves. Robert H. Kellogg, Andersonville Survivor

Before your visit, take time to acquaint yourself with Andersonville National Cemetery from the information found here. In order to maintain an atmosphere of reflection and respect, guidelines for visiting the cemetery and grave decoration policies have been established; please acquaint yourself with these policies before your visit.

One of fourteen National Cemeteries administered by the National Park Service, Andersonville National Cemetery remains open and active for burials. Burial arrangements will be made after death, as with all national cemeteries. The park does not reserve grave space. Veterans or spouses wishing to be buried in national cemeteries should have the veteran's military separation papers available to establish eligibility, which requires an other-than-dishonorable discharge. Dependent children may also be buried.

Fibromyalgia, or fibromyalgia syndrome, is a condition that causes aches and pain all over the body. People with fibromyalgia often experience other symptoms, such as extreme tiredness or sleeping, mood, or memory problems. Fibromyalgia affects more women than men. The pain, extreme tiredness, and lack of sleep that fibromyalgia causes can affect your ability to work or do daily activities. Treatment can help relieve pain and help prevent flare-ups of symptoms.

Fibromyalgia is also called fibromyalgia syndrome. A syndrome is a group of symptoms that happen together. People with fibromyalgia experience aches and pain all over the body, fatigue (extreme tiredness that does not get better with sleep or rest), and problems sleeping.

Carbon monoxide can affect drivers of a moving vehicle, usually owing to a defective exhaust system that allows gas to percolate through the floor or engine bulkhead into the interior. Rarely, a strong following wind can blow the external exhaust-gas through the open doors of a van or truck. Another cause is a leak in the heat exchanger in vehicles that use a direct air supply from around the exhaust manifold to provide passenger heating (Saukko & Knight, 2004). In motor vehicles in which persons must remain for a long period of time while the vehicle is parked, for example, trucks with sleeping cabs, road service vehicles and mail trucks, a separate heater (working independently of the engine of the vehicle) may be used to heat the vehicle. The engine of the apparatus works with diesel fuel or gasoline. Combustion products burning in the pre-combustion chamber heat the fins of the engine. The air passing through the fins is heated and is transferred into the cabin. Malfunction of such an apparatus may be the cause of CO poisoning or fire. So the supplementary heater in the truck might be the cause of fatal CO poisoning and of the fires in the cabins of the trucks (Demirci et al., 2009c) (Fig. 25).

Farm accidents are a frequent occurrence in many countries; for example, in the United States, farming is rated second only to mining in terms of occupational danger (Rivara, 1985). Unguarded agricultural power take-off (PTO) drivelines and the related components, including secondary drivelines powered by the PTO, have been historically recognized as serious farm-related hazards that can cause severe, permanently disabling injuries and death when entanglement occurs (Beer & Field, 2005). PTOs are rapidly rotating shafts that transfer power from the tractor attached at one end to a piece of farm machinery at the other end. Clothing or body parts can become entangled, resulting in amputation or avulsion of body parts, strangulation, and massive crushing injuries (Karlson & Noren, 1979) (Fig. 30). Dogan et al. (2010f) reported that 5.8% of the farm tractor-related fatalities involved deaths resulting from PTO entanglement. In these cases, there were extensive crush injuries to the chest, abdomen, and extremities. None of the turning shafts in these cases had safety shields.

I was with the 388th Trans. Co. ADS from March 1967 to July of 67. We were a detachment from Vung Tau providing helicopter maintenance for Medevacs serving the Evac Hospitals. The day we arrived we were given a couple of cement mixers and 5 wheelbarrows and told that we had to pour a pad for a hooch so we would have a place to sleep. In July they sent us back to Vung Tau and someone else took over our mission.Looking for anyone from our detachment. The stories bring back a lot of memories. Always called the Jail,Camp LBJ

The article will note at that time we had found the locations of graves containing approx 3500 remains. About a third are down to their NE coordinates. At Bien Hoa AB alone there are 3 mass graves to date totaling 923 remains. The 3rd grave is due to be excavated this month adjacent to Gate#2.To date we have provided the VN with the locations of approx 8,000 of their remains.Today we (2 of us ) are in contact with 6 US soldiers that involve 2 specific battles, ApGu (LZ George) and Kontum (Compound & City Battles). Combined they alone represent a reported 1409 VC/NVA remains.

We know their are several thousand buried near Bien Hoa, Long Binh and Hoi Nai. Yes we expect some of these graves will now be under various homes and or buildings. But where are they is the challenge.
